SC SUNDAY SERMONS:
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
1. What You Hear Is Seed, Not Just Sound
The message took us back to Hannah’s story, where her rival kept provoking her with words year after year. Pastor Earl reminded us that what we hear is not just a sound, it’s a seed, and every seed wants a harvest.
Read 1 Samuel 1:6–7 and Mark 4:24
What “sounds” have been on repeat in your life lately, through music, social media, or the people around you? What kind of harvest do you think those seeds are starting to grow?
2. Four Sources of Seed: Society, Satan, Self, Savior
We were reminded that seed comes from four sources: Society, Satan, Self, and Savior. But our Savior has the final word, and whoever has your ear has your future.
Read Genesis 3:4–5 and Mark 4:18–20
Out of those four voices, which one has been the loudest in your life lately? What would it look like this week to turn it down and turn up what God is saying about you?
3. Send It Back
Pastor Earl gave us the picture of getting served something we didn’t order at a restaurant. Some of us just eat it. But when something is set on the table of our heart that doesn’t line up with God’s word, we have permission to send it back.
Read Mark 4:20 and John 12:23–24
What’s one thing you sense the Holy Spirit asking you to “send back” this week? And what’s one good seed you can plant in its place?
