SC SUNDAY SERMONS:

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

1. Wholehearted Through Every Season

Caleb is one of the few people in Scripture who is repeatedly described as someone who "wholeheartedly followed the Lord." Even when others gave in to fear and unbelief, Caleb remained faithful to what God had said. His devotion wasn't based on circumstances; it was rooted in trust and obedience over time.

Read Joshua 14:8-9 and Joshua 14:14

What is one area of your life this week where you can move from partial commitment to wholehearted trust in God? What would that look like practically?

2. Don't Let Delays Diminish Your Faith

Caleb waited 45 years to receive what God had promised him. He didn't allow disappointment, delays, or the decisions of others to stop him from believing God was still at work.

Read Joshua 14:10-11

Is there something you've become discouraged about or stopped praying for? What is one way you can choose to trust God again this week instead of focusing on the delay?

3. Faith Takes the Next Step

When Caleb finally received his inheritance, he didn't choose comfort. He asked for the mountain and trusted God to help him face the challenges ahead. Caleb understood that faith isn't just believing God's promises—it's acting on them.

Read Joshua 14:12

Pastor Earl said, "I can't do it on my own and the Lord won't do it on His own." What is one specific step of obedience, courage, or faith that God may be asking you to take this week?

Summer Strong Weekly Challenge:
As we're in the middle of  Summer Strong, commit to reading one chapter of Joshua each day this week. As you read, ask God to show you an area of your life where He's calling you to take a step of faith, trust His promises, or grow in obedience. Write down one thing that stands out to you and what God showed you. Just like Joshua, we want to be people who don't just hear God's promises, but we step into them.
